:Episode 2- Just A Target:
As Red Troop prepare to bury Sam Leonard with full
military honours in the churchyard at Hereford, a lone gunman attempts
to assassinate a prominent European banker at a French chateau.
Due to his inexperience, however, the gunman misses his target and
the banker, Lunberg, is able to flee.
MI5 brief the team on the shooting. Chillingly,
Henno realises the weapon was an awesomely powerful sniper's rifle,
never yet used on mainland Britain. It must be found urgently -
another hit and lives could be lost.
Lorraine, an MI5 mole, has infiltrated the anti-capitalist
faction believed to be behind the shooting and the intelligence
service wants a good sniper to join her. Jamie poses as her boyfriend,
Tony, an ex-soldier. He's invited to attend a rally, which soon
disintegrates into violence, with Jamie becoming the hero of the
day.
The anti-globalists intend to strike again but the target and location of the hit are unknown, while Jamie fears the unstable Lorraine
will jeopardise his mission. There is a major breakthrough, though,
when Jamie befriends young radical Simon, and shows his willingness
to be the shooter in another assassination attempt.
With no information from MI5, Henno realises it is time to take matters into their own hands. Then, as the group become suspicious,
Jamie is taken to a deserted quarry and handed the rifle. Can Red
Troop find him before he is forced to complete the eco-warriors'
deadly work?
